The grain on these oak plugs blends in so well with my cabinet face frames that I actually had to squint to find them after trimming. Each one seated snugly into the 3/4-inch holes with just a tap of a mallet, and the extra length gave me plenty of material to sand flush without any tear-out.
They’re trimmable, which saved me when my holes were slightly shallow—just shaved them down with a chisel and they sat flush. The oak grain looks convincingly natural against the surrounding wood, and the fit feels solid even after a few days.
I was a little worried they’d split when trimming, but they’re solid oak and cut down flush with a chisel without any tear-out. The grain matches my project board closely enough that the plugs almost disappear once sanded.
