Came perfectly flat right out of the box, so no fiddling with shims before I even attached the legs. The oversized top gives me plenty of clamping room for big panels, and the protective surface has held up to glue and hammer strikes without a mark.

The 1-1/2 inch thickness makes this bench top feel rock solid, no flex at all when I'm hand planing. The flatness straight out of the box saved me from having to do any truing work, and the oversized surface gives me plenty of room to clamp down awkward pieces.

The protective coating has held up beautifully through a month of glue, stain, and mallet strikes. That 1½-inch thickness means zero flex even when I'm cranking down on stubborn workpieces, and the oversized top gives me plenty of clamping room for larger projects.
